Reminders for the safety of us all:- barbecues can be a nuisance to neighbours so please be considerate, bonfires can also be a nuisance and are a fire risk to property and the Forest during dry weather, please do not light a bonfire when gardens, commons and the Forest are dry and never in windy weather.
If you are thinking of having a bonfire on your property – and your neighbour’s property is thatched … be a good neighbour!
Check with the owner before you light the fire, for most thatched property insurance policies specify that a bonfire lit within 30 metres of the property invalidates the policy cover.
