Hyde Village Design Statement
Consultation as a Supplementary Planning Document
Public consultation from 19th March to 30th April 2012.
Village Design Statements (VDS) are prepared by local communities and describe the character of the landscape and the built environment of their parish. They also include local guidelines to help in the design of any new development in the area.
Our VDS was produced in 2007 by a working group set up following the publication of our Parish Plan in 2005. It has now been up-dated to take into account new planning policies in the Core Strategy for the National Park, although most of it remains the same.
We would like to see it formally adopted by the National Park as a Supplementary Planning Document which would make it a material consideration in any planning applications for the part of our parish within the National Park (which is most of it). For this to happen, the National Park Authority must publicly consult on the draft document for a 4 to 6 week period.
The updated VDS is available on the National Park Authority website by following this link: Draft Hyde Village Design Statement Supplementary Planning Document where you can also find details of how to make your comments, which must be with the NPA by 5pm on Monday 30 April 2012.
A printed copy of the document can be seen at the NPA's offices, Town Hall, Avenue Road, Lymington SO41 9ZG, or in Fordingbridge Library.
